Borgger is a tool to capture the world's spare brain cycles.
We believe that off-hand comments, random thoughts, and in-the-shower epiphanies have the most potential, the rarest of qualities: originality.
Sadly, modern life is not conducive to capturing these moments of brilliance. Too often these sparks never leave the coffee house, the friend's basement or the journal scribble.
Enter Borgger: a 21st century salon, a thought-engine to swap & refine ideas, to record moments of creative clarity and to network to make them happen.
When all the world's neurons are firing together, we can solve anything.
So sign up, start borgging and let's build.
The Birth of Borgger
While on vacation in early 2006, Brandon Gheen, a visual designer, came up with a concept for a humorous YouTube series that he didn’t have time to make, but would love to watch. Instead of letting this idea be forgotten and remain in the land of “I should have done...”, Brandon realized the need for an idea swap meet, a space to connect brains with hands. At the very least, there needed to be a ‘soft-trademark’ solution, a middle ground between filing for an expensive patent and being lost forever in a journal.
Brandon used the next few years to refine and simplify, design and edit. Development work began in August 2008 when Brandon connected with David Altschul, a seasoned internet entrepreneur, to bring Borgger to life.
Borgger came out of a private Beta in April 2009.
