"Ask what you can give, not what you can get." Exactly. In my "day job" I am a volunteer coordinator for a mental health center. In the past year and a half my center hired three people who came to us as volunteers. It's a great way to get to meet people within the organization and - especially if you are young, without much of a resume- it's a fantastic way to showcase your skills. Great post!
